King County Fair Rough Stock Rodeo Admission Policy

Everyone attending the King County Fair Rough Stock Rodeo must have a rodeo ticket. Rodeo tickets include admission to the King County Fair on the day of the event.

• Children 2 years of age and older, or any child requiring their own seat, must have a purchased rodeo ticket.
• Children under 2 years of age are admitted free of charge, but must remain seated on an adult's lap for the duration of the event and may not occupy their own seat.

The Rough Stock Rodeo brings the action with saddle bronc riding, chute dogging, mounted shooting, and bull riding! Each event is limited to just 12 competitors, so every ride counts. Contestants are scored equally on their performance and the animal’s performance—making every matchup exciting and unpredictable.

We also mix in a variety of family-friendly rodeo events to keep the whole crowd entertained. The show runs approximately 2 hours of nonstop excitement!

Cowboy mounted shooting is a timed event. It uses a set of 10 balloons attached to stands, set in one of more than 50 approved patterns. The patterns can include such maneuvers as turning around a barrel, switching direction and going through a “gate” or relatively narrow opening. The balloon patterns often include a “rundown” – a line of five balloons set on a straightaway.

A rider uses two .45-caliber, single-action revolvers, each carrying five rounds of black-powder blanks that have an effective range of 10-15 feet. The rider must cock the gun before each shot. After five shots, the rider must holster his first gun and unholster his second while on the run. There are time penalties for missing a balloon.

Registration

• Entry Fee: $35
• All contestants must complete and sign the required waiver.
• Check-in begins at 4:00 PM at the Secretary Tent in the contestant parking lot.
• All contestants must be checked in by 4:30 PM. Any contestant who has not checked in by that time will forfeit their spot to a standby contestant. No exceptions.

We are still accepting entries for Saddle Bronc Riding and are now taking names for the waitlist for Bull Riding and Chute Dogging. Waitlisted contestants will be contacted if a spot becomes available.
