Celebrate America 250

In 2026, the United States will commemorate 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This historic anniversary — the Semiquincentennial — invites communities across the nation to reflect on our shared past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future.

Across Washington, official planning for this milestone is being guided by Washington’s 250 Committee, chaired by the Lieutenant Governor and supported by the Washington State Historical Society, members of the Legislature, and representatives from state agencies and commissions.

Washington’s 250 Committee is working to make sure this commemoration reaches every community, regardless of size, location, or capacity, so all Washingtonians can take part in honoring America at 250.

Celebrate America’s 250th in true Enumclaw Expo style with a vibrant, red-white-and-blue experience for all ages! From lively “Dance It Up” performances set to patriotic music to festive décor spread across the grounds, the fair will be bursting with national pride. Stroll through our special “Moments That Made Us” walk-through display, honoring the milestones that shaped our country, or catch the excitement of the Opening Ceremony, featuring a spirited parade, military color guard, and sweet treats to kick things off. Families can enjoy the youth stage’s patriotic flair, while creative guests contribute to a one-of-a-kind community quilt by crafting their own red, white, and blue square. With our “Back to Our Roots” theme, we’re proud to welcome all King County employees with free entry, and we’ll be sharing fun historical highlights on social media leading up to the event.
